About Cartagena
20+ years of passion for helping organisations get more from their technology investments.
Cartagena was founded in Oslo in 1992 and has delivered on Microsoft Dynamics CRM and its successors since 2005, as a Microsoft partner since 2006. Today we run four of our own offices, with team and partner capacity across five locations on two continents: Oslo, Bergen, Rena, Bangkok and Mumbai. We combine deep expertise in Dynamics 365 and Dataverse with business understanding, and deliver solutions that create measurable value.
Our Bangkok office is built around people we have worked with since 2014, from our years in international shipping. After some years in consulting, we chose to establish our own office and build the company there, with a team that combines strong software engineering expertise with domain knowledge from RoRo shipping. Our Mumbai office is built on a partnership of more than 15 years, and clients meet one team across Norway, Bangkok and Mumbai.
The team consists of consultants, developers and project managers working across industries, from membership organisations and nonprofits to shipping and logistics. What unites us is quality, collaboration and long-term partnerships. Cartagena AS is registered in Norway with organisation number 964 795 037.
Our Team
How We Work
Client First
Every engagement starts with understanding your unique challenges. We listen, analyse and deliver solutions designed for your reality, not off-the-shelf templates.
Deep Expertise
Our consultants bring years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power Platform and CRM strategy across diverse sectors.
Long-term Partnerships
We don't disappear after go-live. We stay with you, providing training, support and continuous improvement as your needs evolve.
What we work on
Our work sits in seven connected areas: CRM strategy and advisory, Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement, Power Platform and Power BI, implementation and project management, integration and data, operations and support, and AI, Copilot and agents. Few clients need all of it, but most discover along the way that a problem they thought was technical is really about who owns which data.
We know four sectors particularly well. Membership organisations, unions and non-profits, where dues, member dialogue and self-service have to hang together. Shipping and logistics, where quoting and booking need to share a rule base. Forestry and industry, where operations and sales meet in the same data. And media and knowledge businesses, where subscription and customer data need to be analysed without detours. The experience from RoRo shipping underpins our product work.
Our products are accelerators on the Microsoft platform rather than separate systems: Cartagena Members for membership operations, Cartagena Link for connecting Dynamics 365 and ERP, Cartagena CPQ for structured quoting, and CargoVerse for CRM and logistics in shipping. They sit on Dataverse, which means clients own the data model themselves.
We write about how we think about these choices in our knowledge center, and have gathered what applies to membership organisations in a separate membership systems overview.
What an engagement looks like
We start with a mapping rather than a contract. The first phase is diagnosis: what exists, who owns it, where the manual work arises, and which decisions are currently made on numbers nobody quite trusts. That phase often changes what the project turns out to be.
Then design, where the data model, integrations and process are settled before anything is built, and delivery in stages rather than one big go-live. We recommend coexistence with what already works, replacing things at the pace the organisation can absorb. Finally adoption and stewardship, the phase budgets most often forget, and the one that decides whether the rest was worth it.
One example of what that looks like in practice is the project portal we built for the Norwegian Helsinki Committee, where applications, contracts and reporting were brought into one place, described in the secretary general's own words.
