Solution Architect / Senior Solution Architect, Dynamics 365 CE
Do you have experience with solution design in Dynamics 365 CE and want to take on more responsibility? We are looking for both experienced senior architects and people on their way into the role.
About us
Cartagena is a specialist consultancy built around Microsoft Dynamics 365 CE and the Power Platform. We are around 25 people: 15 in Norway across Oslo and Bergen, a wholly owned development team in Thailand and a partner team in Mumbai. Our ambition is to become the leading CRM vendor in the Norwegian enterprise market, with CRM and AI as our core disciplines.
We help our clients develop sales, customer service and marketing. Dynamics 365 CE often has to work alongside portals, CPQ, Microsoft Fabric and ERP in complex system landscapes. We also have our own products, including Cartagena Link, a standardised integration platform between Dynamics 365 Sales and ERP.
Our clients include membership and interest organisations and companies in automotive, shipping and logistics, industry, trade and forestry. In shipping we have particular depth in RoRo.
About the role
You translate the client's needs into a data model, solution design and architecture. You assess what can be solved with standard functionality, where customisation is needed, and how the solution should work with the rest of the client's systems.
The responsibility matches your experience. As a senior architect you own the solution design and stand by the trade-offs in front of the client. If you are earlier in your architect career, you take responsibility for defined solutions and sub-areas, with support from experienced architects.
The role can have a technical or a functional profile. Your experience decides which tasks you take on.
You work closely with our development team in Thailand. As a senior you may take professional responsibility for developers: clarifying tasks, following up on quality and making sure the solution holds together. This is professional leadership, not line management.
All our consultants take part in presales. It is part of the job, not an add-on.
AI in everyday work
AI is part of how we run projects. We transcribe workshops and stand-ups, keep project documentation in shared AI projects, and connect AI to CRM, finance systems and Microsoft 365, among other things through MCP servers.
For our clients we build solutions with AI agents in customer service, sales and marketing. As an architect you help find the use cases and design the solutions.
We are looking for someone who
- has at least four years of hands-on experience with D365 CE and Dataverse, for example Sales, Customer Service and model-driven apps
- has experience with solution design and wants to take responsibility for the whole
- can read and challenge integration design, including error handling, idempotency and monitoring
- has worked on the vendor side, delivering to paying clients
- works well in English, spoken and written
For the senior role we expect you to have owned the solution design in at least one larger project. If you are on your way into the architect role, we want to hear which parts of the solution design you have been responsible for, and what you want to develop further.
Strong plus
- PL-200, PL-400 or PL-600, or an equivalent certification path
- experience from a smaller consultancy, or independent client responsibility at a larger one
- experience with presales and distributed development teams
- experience with AI in project work or client solutions
- Norwegian, Swedish or Danish as a working language

- Fixed salary and a performance-based bonus scheme. Terms agreed individually.

- Hybrid working model, normally two to three days a week in the office.
- Offices in Oslo and Bergen. From January 2027 the Oslo office moves to Lysaker.
Practical
The position is based in Oslo or Bergen. If you live elsewhere in Eastern Norway, hybrid works well as long as you can commute to Oslo for office days, client meetings and workshops. We would like you to start as soon as possible, but a regular notice period is no problem.
The process
- First interview with our CEO on Teams.
- Technical round with our development team in Thailand, on Teams, in English.
- An in-person working session with us in Oslo, where we work on solution design at the whiteboard together. No take-home assignment.
