Fabric Expert: Data Platform and Analytics
We are looking for someone strong in Microsoft Fabric who wants to lead our data and analytics practice in Norway. At Cartagena you connect Dynamics 365 CE and Fabric, so clients get data they can trust and use every day.
About us
Cartagena is a specialist consultancy built around Microsoft Dynamics 365 CE and the Power Platform. We are around 25 people: 15 in Norway across Oslo and Bergen, a wholly owned development team in Thailand and a partner team in Mumbai. Our ambition is to become the leading CRM vendor in the Norwegian enterprise market, with CRM and AI as our core disciplines.
We help our clients develop sales, customer service and marketing. Dynamics 365 CE often has to work alongside portals, CPQ, Microsoft Fabric and ERP in complex system landscapes. We also have our own products, including Cartagena Link, a standardised integration platform between Dynamics 365 Sales and ERP.
Our clients include membership and interest organisations and companies in automotive, shipping and logistics, industry, trade and forestry. In shipping we have particular depth in RoRo.
About the role
You take professional responsibility for Microsoft Fabric and data and analytics in Norway. You work closely with our clients and architects, from understanding the need to designing and building the solution.
The interplay between Dynamics 365 CE and Microsoft Fabric is central. You bring together and model data from CRM, Dataverse, ERP and other sources and make it available for analysis and reporting in Power BI. The goal is for clients to follow up sales, customer service, members and operations with numbers they trust.
We already deliver Power BI, data models and data pipelines for our clients, and demand for Fabric is growing. We are now bringing data and analytics together as a practice of its own, and you take responsibility for developing it further with our architects and developers in Norway and Thailand.
You will
- design and build data platforms in Microsoft Fabric
- bring together, process and model data from Dynamics 365, Dataverse, ERP and other sources
- develop data models and Power BI reports that clients use every day
- ensure data quality and solutions that can be maintained and developed over time
- explain trade-offs and give clients clear recommendations
- work with our architects and developers and help build Fabric expertise across the company
- take part in presales and client dialogue
AI is part of how we work, both in our projects and in client solutions, and good AI solutions stand or fall on the data underneath.
We would also like you to share our expertise through talks, professional content and articles on LinkedIn. It is a smaller part of the role, and we set aside time and support you. You do not need an established profile, but you need to want to contribute.
We are looking for someone who
- has solid, hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric and can take independent responsibility for design and implementation
- has delivered data platforms or data warehouses that are in production
- is skilled in data modelling, SQL, Power BI and DAX
- can structure an unclear need and turn it into a solution that can be built and maintained
- wants to take professional responsibility and help build a practice
- works well in English, spoken and written
Strong plus
- experience with Dynamics 365 CE, Dataverse and CRM data
- understanding of processes in sales, customer service or member management
- experience from the vendor side, delivering to paying clients
- experience with professional leadership or distributed development teams
- relevant certifications in Fabric and Power BI
- Norwegian, Swedish or Danish as a working language
What we offer
- Professional responsibility for an initiative you help shape and build.
- An experienced architect community in Norway, specialists in Thailand and a partner team in Mumbai to work and spar with.
- Existing clients and CRM deliveries where Fabric and analytics have a clear place.
- The opportunity, over time, to build a development team in Bangkok in Fabric, Power BI and data warehousing, led professionally from Norway.
- Our own products and solutions to build on.
- Fixed salary and a performance-based bonus scheme. Terms agreed individually.
- Certification paths and conferences covered.
- Hybrid working model, normally two to three days a week in the office.
- Offices in Oslo and Bergen. From January 2027 the Oslo office moves to Lysaker.
